New City Centre Design Hub

November 15, 2016

Andrew Black Design are breathing new life into an historic city centre building, creating a design hub in the heart of the Cultural Quarter.

We have submitted a planning application to transform Tay Street Lane Mews, a 19th century building into a contemporary business hub accommodating some of the best of Dundee’s creative talent.

Relocating from our current Perth Road base, the project will see us regenerate the building, which dates back to around 1830 and is built against part of the historic old town wall. The buildings are C listed and the exterior was renovated in 2011 by Dundee City Council.

Currently a shell, this has allowed us to create a striking, modern interior, while keeping the exterior more traditional but with a contemporary cue. The completed property will comprise three studios, with Andrew Black Design occupying one, and the remaining units leased to like-minded design companies.

The move is part of a planned development for our growing practice as we are looking to increase our current team of six.

Please get in contact for more information regarding the studio properties.
